Last updated: 23 September 2026. This notice covers the Pirates Group public information website at piratesgroup.org and www.piratesgroup.org. The bookkeeping and POS applications are separate services; this analytics update does not install tracking in them.

Optional Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which public pages people visit and which enquiry buttons they use. The Google Analytics tag is blocked until you select Allow analytics. Reject analytics keeps it blocked. Both choices let you continue using the website and contacting us.

When allowed, Analytics uses cookies to recognise a browser and measure visits and interactions. Google also receives technical connection information, including the IP address needed to communicate with its servers and browser/device information. This is not a promise of anonymous browsing. Google may process information outside Zimbabwe. Read Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from partner sites.

Our measurement events use fixed page and button categories, not your name, phone number, email, form answers or WhatsApp message text. Page query strings and fragments are not included in our event fields, and this initial setup skips pages with unrecognised URL parameters. We do not enable Google advertising signals or personalised advertising through this tag.

A WhatsApp click or prepared message is not proof that a message was sent or that a booking or sale was completed. We do not report these actions as confirmed customers.

Cookies and saved preferences

Your analytics choice is saved in this browser’s local storage under pg-analytics-choice-v1 for up to 180 days. When analytics is allowed, this setup requests host-only analytics cookies prefixed pg_ga, with a maximum lifetime of 180 days; browsers may shorten this. These cookies are not configured to be shared with our app or POS subdomains.

The existing website also saves your chosen light/dark theme in local storage, and your age-gate answer in session storage. These functions do not depend on accepting analytics. Clearing browser storage removes saved preferences. Preferences can differ between browsers, devices and the www/non-www addresses.

To withdraw consent, open Cookie settings and choose Reject analytics. This stops this tag’s further measurement and clears its accessible analytics cookies on the current hostname without clearing your form. Information already received by Google is not automatically deleted by changing the browser preference. Contact us about previously collected information or other privacy questions.

Enquiries and WhatsApp

The enquiry forms prepare a WhatsApp link in your browser. They do not submit your answers to a website form database. Choosing Continue in WhatsApp or the prepared-message link passes your prepared text to WhatsApp so you can review it. You still need to press Send in WhatsApp for the business to receive your message. WhatsApp then handles that interaction under its own terms and privacy policy.

If you send an enquiry or call us, you choose to share the contact details and information needed for our conversation. Please do not include passwords, payment-card details or other sensitive information. We use the information you send to respond to your request and discuss the relevant service.

Website operation and other services

Our hosting server receives technical request information such as IP address, requested address, browser information and request time. Access or error logs may be kept for operation and security; rejecting optional analytics does not prevent the server from receiving a request needed to display a page. External services opened through links have their own practices.
